    • 500 grams ground beef
    • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 cup milk
    • 1 egg
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
    • 2 tablespoons chopped scallions
    • Salt and black pepper to taste
    • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
  • For the Teriyaki Sauce:
    • 1/2 cup soy sauce
    • 1/4 cup mirin
    • 1/4 cup sake
    • 1/4 cup sugar
    • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water (slurry)
  • For the Pasta:
    • 400 grams spaghetti
    • 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
    • 1/4 cup chopped scallions

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Meatballs:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, minced garlic, soy sauce, grated ginger, chopped scallions, salt, and black pepper.
    • Mix until well combined. Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
    • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Teriyaki Sauce:
    • In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
    • Add the cornstarch slurry and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
    • Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce, stirring to coat them evenly. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Cook the Spaghetti:
    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside.
  4. Assemble and Serve:
    • Divide the cooked spaghetti among serving plates.
    • Top each plate with the teriyaki meatballs and sauce.
    • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped scallions.
  5. Serve:
    • Serve immediately and enjoy the delightful fusion of Italian comfort and Japanese flavor!
